§ 62-1. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Obstruction and occupancy means that a person applying for a permit to commence construction adjacent to a public street or a subdivision street proposed to be dedicated as a public street shall deposit with the city a cash bond in an amount established by city council resolution to ensure the removal of any materials or machinery which occupy the street incidental to construction or repair authorized by such permit and to provide the removal of mud, dirt, litter or other materials from the surface of such streets or other public property occasioned by the construction or repair authorized by such permit.

    Sidewalk means the portion of the street designed for pedestrian travel.

    Street or right-of-way means all of the land lying between property lines on either side of all streets, alleys and boulevards, and shall include sidewalk, berm and curb.
