§ 74-150. Capital connection charges.

  • (a)

    Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, no property within the city shall hereafter be connected to the city water distribution system until the owner thereof shall have first obtained a permit for such connection and shall have paid to the city connection charges, including, but not limited to, a capital connection charge in the amount of $500.00 per unit for water service or in such other amounts as are established by resolution of the council based upon a unit factor water consumption schedule prepared for and adopted by the council. In addition, connection charges shall also include the following:

    (1)

    Water connections where provided by the city shall be 125 percent of actual cost.

    (2)

    Water inspection fee: $30.00 per tap.

    (3)

    Water master charge as applicable.

    (b)

    For property located in the VC, Village Center, Zoning District that is being occupied by a retail, sales tax generating use on the first floor of the building in which the use will be contained, the amount of the water capital connection charge shall be reduced by the amount of 50 percent.
